I Sell the Dead

AWARDED THE KODAK VISION AWARD FOR BEST CINEMATOGRAPHER AT THE SLAMDANCE FILM FESTIVAL.

A comedy-horror set in 18th century Britain, starring Ron Perlman and Dominic Monaghan.  Filmed in Super 35.  Extremely ambitious: all locations were in Manhattan, Staten Island, Brooklyn, and Long Island.  Inspiration came from Hammer Studios’  horror classics and the saturated horror fantasy worlds created by Dario Argento.  Each of the film’s flashback sequences had their own look, from the blue fog flooded nights of a cemetery to the burnt-out, desaturated warmth of a desolate beach.  My favorite location, the pub, was lit entirely with strings of christmas lights.  Directed by Glenn McQuaid.
